So, these nail polish strips have been on my mind since probably February. I did check out a few other blogs and articles before finally deciding to make the purchase myself, but eventually, today (only 3 months later) I decided to buck up and buy the product.
And, I LIKE it! I'm not going to say LOVE, because I do think there is a little room for improvement... but, overall a wonderful product. The product itself is a nail polish on a strip, with no drying time. There are 22 different colors and patterns... every thing from animal prints, to lace, to metallic's, and glitter.
So here's how to use the product:
To prep your nails, you begin by cleaning the nail (removing polish, dirt and oil with a polish remover) and pushing back the cuticles. From there, file and buff your nails. The instructions do suggest swiping the polish remover over your nails one last time. The rest is pretty simple. Pick out the polish strip sizes that fit your nails best. (Note: I did find that if I picked out a strip that was too big for my nail, I could easily use the cuticle pusher to wrap it completely around my nail bed and buff off the excess.) Once you have the sizes all picked out, put the strip on, just like a sticker. The instructions then say you can stretch/mold it to fit your nails. Press down and buff off the excess. And, viola! Beautiful nails.
The only challenge that the product posed to me was my thumb nails. I had a hard time getting those strips completely smooth. To anyone else, though, they look fine. I am just a perfectionist and I know that there is a tiny bump on them.
Where would I suggest improvements? Well, Sally, it would be nice if the stickers were labeled with letters or numbers so that the next time I decide to purchase Nail Effects, I won't have to re-size my nails every time. Another suggestion... provide more direction with smoothing out bumps or rough edges.
Other than those minor hiccups, I would say that Sally really did "Nail it" with Salon Effects.
Have you ever tried Salon Effects?
What is your favorite Sally Hansen product?
