I'm a little bit obsessed with the movie, "Bridesmaids". It's hilarious! (And, believe me - nothing like my own wedding experience!) I know that not everyone would agree with me (I've heard the trailer gives away a lot of the "good" parts), but seriously, I do feel like this is the movie equivalent of "The Hangover" for us gals.
I don't want to spoil the movie for anyone who has not seen it. But, by far my favorite scenes include the plane trip to Vegas and the scene where Annie and Helen (Kristen Wiig and Rose Byrne) try to get Officer Rhode's (Chris O'Dowd) attention with Annie's car. And, the movie just wouldn't be the same without Megan (Melissa McCarthy). At one point, I couldn't watch without laughing... I found the movie to be so darn funny, I went twice with my girlfriends. This is one movie that will definitely make the perfect rental for a girl's night!
Beings that this is a beauty/fashion blog, there are a few things to note that I found particularly interesting in the movie. If I were going to pick through one character's wardrobe, I'd have to say it would be that of Helen Harris. Her entrance in the ball gown she wore at Lillian's (Maya Rudolph) engagement party is nothing short of stunning. She looks chic and so put together throughout the movie. However, sometimes almost a little too put together, though... on the verge of a little stuffy looking.
I could only find this photo of the top half of the ball gown that Helen wears in the movie. The bottom skirt is sopretty - I guess you'll have to see the movie to see it for yourself! |
I can also appreciate Annie's sense of style. Her hair is always worn with beachy, relaxed waves and is dressed up with a little rhinestone barrette and low ponytail for Lillian's bridal shower and wedding. I especially love how she adds a blazer to many of the dresses she wears throughout the movie. It just adds a little something extra to her look.
These are two of my favorite blazer/dress combos that Annie wears in the movie. I think I'm going to try out this look as well! |
Anyways, if you haven't gone to see this movie yet - I highly recommend it! And, while you're getting a good laugh, perhaps you'll spot some new beauty/fashion trends you'd like to try as well!
