Un-Masking Gorgeous Hair

I was chatting with my friend, Lynsey, about different hair products.  Living in the midwest, the winter months can definitely be harsh and drying to our hair.  Not only that, but Lynsey and I are both blonde and have had chemically treated hair.  Oh, the damage!  What's a girl to do?  Depending on your hair, I recommend using either a protein or moisture-based hair mask.  Beware though, ladies, too much protein can lead to breakage as too much moisture can lead to grease!  It's best to use a mask once or *maybe* twice a week, depending on your hair.  Talk to your hairdresser and find out what he/she recommends for you.

Retail Cost: About $23.00

Anyway, one of my favorite masks (and, Lyns' favorite too) is TIGI Bedhead's "Treat Me Right Peppermint Hair Mask".  This mask smells fresh and pepperminty, while tingling on your scalp!  It is designed to moisturize your hair, and can be applied with heat for a more intense treatment.  After use, you will immediately notice full, shiny, and healthy hair!  If you love peppermint, you will love this mask.  'Nuff said.

Retail Cost: About $41.00

Another favorite mask of mine is the Moroccan Oil Restorative Hair Mask... if you know me, this is no surprise.  I love Moroccan Oil.  This is a mask that I am currently using once a week.  This particular mask is designed to nourish as it is a protein-rich formula.  It also improves hair texture, and this I can attest to as my hair is always, always super soft after I  use it!  If you are looking for a moisturizing mask (rather than protein-based), try the Moroccan Intense Hydrating Mask.

Retail Cost: About $14.67

I also love the Joico K-Pak line.  While the K-Pak products aren't marketed as "masks", they are great conditioners for your hair.  In fact,  my hairdresser, Amanda, has recommended the K-Pak line to me whenever my hair is "...feeling like rubber band hair."  My two favorite products: K-Pak Intense Hydrator (for moisture) and K-Pak Deep Penetrating Reconstructor (for protein).

Retail Cost: About $51.00

A conditioning mask/treatment that I haven't tried yet (but would like to!), is the Nanoworks Luxury Hair Masque.  This is the Rolls-Royce of hair conditioning treatments.  It contains acai berry, pomegranate, and blueberry to deeply penetrate and repair hair where it is needed most.  I've heard nothing but great things, so I am looking forward to trying this product out!  I'll be sure to let you guys know what I think.

What is your favorite conditioning treatment or hair mask?  What is something you'd like to try?
