Are you ready to walk the plank?

I haven't really blogged about nail polishes or trends that I'm liking yet, so I decided that it was time.  Since I live in the middle of nowhere, I thought it might be helpful to do a search what the latest news for spring nail trends 2011.

I read a lot of different things - I saw that pastels are going to be very in, but that on the other end of the spectrum, dark, dark green will also be in.  I kept reading... I read about OPI's Texas collection as well as what has been shown on the runways... half-moon manicures and nail art of all kinds! 

That's when it caught my eye:  shattered nails.  I'll be the first to admit that I have and love the Katy Perry "Black Shattered" nail polish.  My sister insists that this is nothing new, that they used to have the same kind of shattered nail polishes around when we were little.  I don't remember that, but I think she's probably right.  Anyway, Katy Perry's "Shattered" has been around for a little while now, but as I did more research... I found this:

Planks a Lot, Mermaid's Tears, and Silver Shatter.

It look's like OPI's *NEWEST* Collection will be inspired by "Pirates of the Caribbean" and is due out in May 2011... with a new shattered polish!  The collection will feature six new colors, including:

Skull & Crossbones (pale gray)

Mermaid's Tears (green)

Stranger Tides (sage green)

Planks a Lot (purple)

Steady as She Rose (rosy pink)

Sparrow Me the Drama (bold pink)

The shatter polish called "Silver Shatter".  Just from looking at the colors out there, I can't wait to purchase my "Silver Shatter" and many, (if not all!) of the other polishes in the collection (I love the one's shown in the picture!). 

I will admit that the article I read was dated February 16th, but I don't care.  I was so excited that I had to share.  :)  And, of course, after writing this blog, I am now inspired to polish my nails, of course!
