I wrote in full detail about the brand, Pixi Chix here (love the products). Now, I feel compelled to write an update on my Trunk Show fiasco.
I am not a negative person, and I hate to say anything negative about a company. However, hosting a Pixi Chix Trunk Party was the biggest mistake that I could have made. It really has been a nightmare, and I would not recommend it to anyone.
Okay, so where I left off on my last post was that my ordered items were delayed and we were going to be receiving free beanies for our troubles. Well, no beanies yet... and, I did receive a package after my last post! I was very excited to see that my items had come... However, the box seemed a little small. In fact, only half of the orders had arrived. Six out of thirteen total orders... (and one order only receive part of their order).
According to Pixi Chix, I was missing "a few items". Rather, I was missing orders for seven good friends. After several phone calls to the store, they could not even locate what was missing. I couldn't believe it. Everyone deserved to get their money back. While on the phone with a manager one night, she was suddenly able to locate our orders. And, that they had shipped! Only, they were shipping to someone that I don't know. They were going to call this person and see if I could meet up with them, since she lived in my city.
I decided to take matters into my own hands and found the individual on Facebook. We were able to talk, and, coincidentally - she was having the same experience that I was with her trunk show. Unfortunately, she was out of town when the box was delivered, so our plan was to meet up when she was back in town (hopefully today sometime). I know that there will be at least one order missing, but I am hopeful everything else is there.
I have to say, hosting this party was difficult for me because I felt like I was disappointing all my friends. I would relay a message to them from Pixi Chix... and then it wouldn't be accurate. Besides that, I often see Sponsored posts from Pixi Chix on my Facebook advertising that they are going national -- this is frustrating to me because they simply are not ready. There is far too much disorganization within the company, and quite a few negative customer service reviews.
As far as my customer service experience goes, I'll say that my experience wasn't bad - however, it could have been much better. If I owned that company, I would have made a personal phone call to those customers whose orders who were mixed up. I also would have offered money back up front and/or a free item. I had to ask for the free item, and ended up primarily working through a manager, Hollie, who was - by the way - very friendly and went above and beyond to locate all of our orders. I never spoke with Andrea... only through e-mail, and when the store couldn't locate our orders, her e-mail stopped working for me.
Anyway, this was a huge lesson learned for me - and, I apologize to any of my friends who made orders that they have not yet received. I still love the product, and I can't wait for everyone to receive what they have ordered... In the mean time, I am going to try and figure out how I might be able to sew my own clothing and accessories... or purchase from these Etsy shop owners: Whimsy and Ry, WestAnnaDesigns, and The Berry Patch.
