 Hi!  I'm Jennifer, but usually go by Jenny or Jen in person.  And, thank you for stopping by my blog - it developed out of my love for  beauty and fashion.  My interest in the industry developed in high school;  I worked at Peel's Salon Services (now Salon Centric), a wholesale salon service provider for cosmetologists, make-up artists, nail technicians, and estheticians.  Following high school, I attended a local University and majored in Fashion Merchandising.  I knew to be taken seriously I would need to eventually move away from the Midwest, but I just wasn't willing to take that leap.  Fashion and beauty was an interest and hobby, and would not be the career I pursued.  Instead, I changed course and pursued a career in education  - combining my love for learning, children, and creativity.  My career in education is extremely fulfilling, and all the while - I've still maintained a knack for beauty and fashion.  This blog has now become a creative outlet for me to express myself in a different way.

As I eluded to before, I'm a Midwestern girl, born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska.  My husband, Matt, and I were married in the Cayman Islands in 2011 and have a daughter, Ellie, who was born in 2013.  Our family would not be complete without our two Chihuahua's, Dulce and Nola.  We are both very close to our families and lucky to have both sides of our family living close by.

My full-time job is in education.  It is truly amazing to have the opportunity to make a difference for staff, student, and their families in the community that I live (and all the while, students usually get a kick out of my hair or nails).  I'm nearly completed my doctorate in educational administration, and hope to become an elementary school principal.  When I am not at school or taking classes, I can be found spending time with my family, blogging (of course), painting and crafting, reading, or at the gym.  You'll also notice that I love traveling!  It would be an understatement to say that I like to stay busy!  (My Gallup Top 5 Strengths are: Achiever, Futuristic, Input, Focus, and Learner.  Learn more about that here.)
