I have so much fun picking out gifts for my female friends and family. I will admit though, at times... I definitely over-think it. I also have a tendency to buy things in groups of threes. I've designed this gift guide in terms of interest - so make sure to read my commentary below!
1. The Beauty Guru: I would check at Sephora or Ulta to see what is the latest. If she loves color, an eyeshadow palette or lipstick kit is great! Otherwise, if she's into skin care - try some nice lotions or sheet masks. The possibilities are endless. I'm a sucker for the holiday packaging myself.
2. The Homebody: If your she loves staying home, I suggest a candle, coffee mug, fuzzy slippers, or cozy blanket. You could pick up some great books as well. Anthropologie has some great options!
3. The Fashionista: My sister is very fashionable, but I can never truly pick out any thing that is exactly her style. What works for me is accessories - that way she can pair it so it works with her style. Jewelry, hand bags, and scarves are a great way to go!
4. #Boss Lady: Nowadays there are so many creative ways to decorate the office and workspaces at home. I love Rachel George for "golden" accessories. However, you can find so many great office tools from Kate Spade, Ban.do, and even Francesca's Collection.
5. The Foodie: If she loves cooking or baking, Williams and Sonoma or Sur La Table are two places that I immediately check. Sometimes it's fun to put together a recipe book and all of the essentials needed to bake the recipe. Or, some wine a beautiful glasses are also very "tasteful"!
6. The Crafter: Hobby Lobby and Michael's Craft stores are my go-tos. Depending on what kind of crafting your friend enjoys, I usually buy "craft kits" that can be put together. I love the "sparkly" hot glue gun feature in Mr. Kate's Hot Glue Gun Mess book (<- also a great gift!).
7. The Athlete: When you know your her size, you can pick out something from a sports store like LuluLemon or Athleta. In the case that you don't, ear buds, a headband, and water bottle could be picks that she'll love!
Since it is a bit late in the season - I won't have time to do this - but... perhaps next year I will expand on these gift guides and dedicate a post to each type of "girl" out there. Of course, we ladies can't be put in a box and many of us fall into several categories.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed!
